Personal Mission Statement
I am a public health student with a strong interest in nutrition, prevention, and community well-being. I am committed to understanding how social, environmental, and behavioral factors shape health outcomes and using that knowledge to support healthier communities. I value education, prevention, and practical solutions that can improve everyday health for individuals and families. Through my academic and professional experiences, I aim to build skills that allow me to connect science with real-life application in accessible and meaningful ways. My goal is to contribute to healthier lifestyles and stronger communities by promoting informed choices, equity, and sustainable health practices.
StrengthsFinder
I took the StrengthsFinder Assessment in the fall of 2024 for my Community Organizing for Health Promotion class. It provides an overview of my top five strengths and how they apply to different areas of my life. My top five strengths are listed below.
After taking CliftonStrengths, my top five strengths were listed as...
-
Relator: You enjoy building close relationships and prefer meaningful, authentic connections over superficial interactions. You are loyal and value trust in your friendships and teamwork.
-
Empathy: You are able to sense and understand the emotions of others. You naturally connect with how people feel and often respond with care and support.
-
Harmony: You seek peace and avoid unnecessary conflict. You prefer finding common ground and creating cooperative environments where people can work well together.
-

-
Individualization: You notice what makes each person unique. You are able to recognize different strengths in others and adapt your approach based on the individual.
Reflection
The StrengthsFinder assessment highlighted my strengths in a way that helped me better understand how I interact with others and approach different situations. It reinforced my strengths in empathy, responsibility, and intentional decision-making, which shape how I build and maintain relationships. Over time, I have worked on improving my communication and confidence in expressing my thoughts, especially in situations that may involve conflict. This growth has helped me become more open, self-aware, and comfortable engaging with others in both personal and academic settings. Overall, the results affirmed my values and continue to guide my personal and professional development.

Strength in Every Step
Emotional Intelligence
I completed the Emotional Intelligence 2.0 assessment in Fall 2025 as part of my Capstone course. The assessment measured emotional intelligence across four main areas: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management, along with overall personal and social competence.
My results are listed below....
-
Social Awareness (90/100): Your ability to notice and understand the emotions, needs, and perspectives of others.
-
Self-Awareness (80/100): Your ability to recognize your own emotions and understand how they influence your thoughts and behavior.
-
Self-Management (70/100): your ability to stay in control of your emotions and respond in a thoughtful and intentional way, especially during stressful or challenging situations.
-
Relationship Management (60/100): Your ability to use emotional understanding to communicate effectively, maintain healthy relationships, and handle conflict in a productive way.

How I am feeling about my relationship management.
Reflection
Reflect back on this experience.
This assessment helped me better understand my emotional strengths and areas for growth. I learned that my strongest areas are social awareness and self-awareness, which show that I am good at recognizing both my own emotions and the emotions of others. My lowest area, relationship management, made me realize I still need to improve how I communicate and handle conflict in certain situations. Overall, the results helped me see how I can continue building stronger self-management skills while using my strengths to improve my relationships and personal growth.
